Applications

Where this machine is used

  • Smaller car parts like bell housings and stabilising bars are commonly made using sand moulds, which enables the use of shot-blasting cabinets to clean the surfaces before further processing.
  • A shot-blasting cabinet can simultaneously remove surface sand from several tiny metal castings.
  • Shot-blasting in foundries is most effective when used after production.
  • A shot blasting cabinet can be used to remove corrosion and rust from metal before processing. It can also be used to finish the process and give the metal a perfect surface.
Overview

Product description

Shot Blasting cabinet is primarily a closed sphere mechanism, which allows the operator to explode the abrasive and reprocess it.

Shot Blasting Cabinet is consisting of many components used for shot blasting the substrate surface. Shot blasting is a process in which blasting abrasives are shot. Shot blasting Cabinet is a cabinet having in one feature. Large Shot blasting Cabinet we use this cabinet only for abrasives media like 30/60 Mesh, Steel grit, Aluminum oxide, Copper Slag, etc. That is used for blasting on the surface of the substrate. The steel shot blasting cabinet eliminates the requirement of safety equipment because the cabinet protects the operator from the microparticles of abrasive.

There is no difference between the cabinet like Grit Blasting, Sand Blasting, Shot Blasting. Cabinet differs only on behalf of Pressure, Wet & Suction Blasting Cabinet. In front of the cabinet, it has a two-hole section in which we can put hands into gauntlets that have gloves for a blasting workpiece. Shot blaster Cabinet for sale consists of a closed package of Dust collector, Shot blasting Nozzle, Gloves, etc.

Outside the cabinet when shot blasting is completed then there is an air gun for cleaning up residue particles from the surface of the workpiece. A reclaimer type collector is used to reclaim the abrasive used. A fabric bag type collector is a different type of collector having a fabric bag inside the collector in which abrasive or dust gets stuck. The fabric bag is vibrated with the help of an air compressor so that abrasive particles get recovered.

Shot Blasting cabinet typically consists of four components which are:

  • Shot Blast Cabinet
  • Abrasive blasting system
  • Abrasive recycling system
  • Dust collection

The blasting process involves blasts of the abrasive media parts inside the cabinet, and outside the cabinet, the operator put his hands in the gloves which are attached to glove holes on the cabinet.

The operator through the view window views the part while turning the blast on and off with the use of a foot pedal or treadle.

Robotic or automatic blasting cabinets are also used to conduct the blasting process where the components are present in large amounts. The mechanism may slot in many blast nozzles and a part of the conveyance system.

Types of Shot Blasting Cabinet

Characteristically there are three systems used in a blast cabinet. Out of which two are dry and one is wet. Here is a look at it:

Suction Shot Blasting Cabinet

Suction Blasting Cabinet also known as the Siphon Blast cabinet System is a dry process where compressed air is used to create a vacuum in a blast gun. The negative force then lugs in the abrasive mix to the blast gun from where compressed air takes the abrasive towards the workpiece through a nozzle.

Pressure Blasting Cabinet

Another is Pressure Blasting Cabinet, where the abrasive is placed in the pressure vessel and is sealed then. The vessel is pressurized with the same pressure as the blast hose, which is attached at the bottom of the pressure vessel. The abrasive mix is put into the blast hose and compressed gases carry it through the Boron Carbide Nozzle towards the surface. It is also a dry process.

Wet Blasting Cabinet

Wet Blasting Cabinet as the very name recommends, is a wet process. The wet blast cabinet uses the system where the abrasive mix or liquid slurry is inserted into a compressed gas stream. The wet blasting process is classically used only when the heat produced through friction in the dry blasting process would damage the part.

Application of Shot Blasting Cabinet

  • Removing of Impurities.
  • Deburring.
  • Hardening and shot peening are two different processes.
  • De-oxidation.
  • Grazing for the sake of aesthetics.
  • Remove the paint.
  • Preparation of the surface before painting, rubber coating, etc.
